About the Wigan Cougars
The Wigan Cougars were formed in September 1999 following a break in another local club. A group of enthusiastic players and parents then decided to go it alone and so Wigan Cougars was born. Starting off with about 20 players aged from 10 years up to 17 years the club grew quite quickly and now has around 35 players of different ages and levels of ability.
We play in blue, white and red coloured jerseysand our logo is featured below.We play in the GBHI(Great Britain Hockey Inline)Northern Conference with the Leasowes Sharks, Walkden Cobras, Team Predators, Blackpool Raiders and Crewe's Missiles.

Great Britain Hockey Inline (GBHI)
The GBHI is split into five seperate conferences, North, South, Midlands, Wales and Ireland. The conferences are split into seven age categories, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, Under 20, Senior(n.b the Irish conference is Senior category only). The GBHI rules allow limited contact, but no checking. GBHI games/ competitions are played with a puck. The GBHI Head Office is based at the Deeside Arena in Flintshire, North Wales. |
